Chineselanguage is the official state language of the People's Republic of China, the country, where traditions are closely connected with technologies, and the population exceeds 1 billion citizens. 90% of China’s population uses Chineselanguage, as far as historically it was the language of the most numerous Chinese ethnic group Han. Besides, Chinese is disseminated in Thailand, Indonesia, Myanma, Vietnam, Cambodia, Singapore, Malaysia, and Laos.

Chineselanguage is referred to the Sino-Tibetan language group. Ancient Chinese language (Wenyang) had had rather complicated morphological system that has been lost afterwards. Formation of the new language was accompanied by development of disyllabic word standards and form-building and word-formative affixes. As to the sound language structure, each syllable in Chineselanguage can be pronounced by four different intonations, and meaning will be changed, in some cases on the contrary. There are in total about 400 syllables in Chinese language that lead to existence of great number of homonyms, equally sounding words with absolutely different semantic stress. As a result, it becomes virtually impossible to translate correctly a Chinese phrase out of general context.

Chinesewriting is founded on hieroglyphs, where each hieroglyph from more than 40 000 known denotes a separate syllable. The most part of hieroglyphs can be found only in classic Chinese literary works. It is enough to master 1 500 signs for a primary literate Chinese, and ability to use 3 000 hieroglyphs is sufficient to read newspapers and magazines of general subject.

There are several generally recognized rules in communication with Chinese people that ought to be adhered. For example, one cannot put a Chinese collocutor in embarrassing situation, mouth him off in front of outsiders, especially in the presence of other Chinese, especially, juniors. It is deemed to be common courtesy to answer letters, requests, and offers quickly or to send immediate notifications that they are admitted to consideration, and that an answer will be provided in the nearest time. And it is customary to pack presents in red paper, because this color is considered to be the symbol of good luck and joy in China.
