Translation from Ukrainian to Russian language and from Russian to Ukrainian language

Ukrainian language was recognized as official language of the Republic of Ukraine as far back as end of the nineties, right after recognition of its independence. This language is spoken as native by over 40 million people. Among them 85,2 % - Ukrainians, 71,0 % - Polacks, 0,1 % - Crimean Tatars, 3,4 % - Hungarians and 3,9 % - ethnic Russians. Ukrainian language is mostly similar to its neighbors in Oriental group of Slavic languages (Russian, Belorussian and Polish). A great influence of Polish language is noted in vocabulary of Ukrainian language.
Modern dialects of Ukrainian language joining several major Ukrainian dialects:
- The northwestern (dialects of Polesye)
- The south-western (dialects of Galicia, Zakarpattia oblast, Bukovyna)
- The south – eastern (dialects of the Dnieper region used as the basis for standard Ukrainian language).
Existence of original form of Russian and Ukrainian languages symbiosis – “Surzhyk” is noted in areas bordering Russia. Surzhyk is a hybrid of Ukrainian grammar and phonetic peculiarities with mixed Russian – Ukrainian lexis.
Many people think Ukrainian language is easy and translation from Ukrainian into Russian or vice versa - sheer waste of time. But it should be remembered that Ukrainian language is original language with centuries-long history and characteristic features, which in the process of translation can be accounted only by high-skilled professional.
